Student Success Guide

This guide provides a summary of resources and academic success strategies available to help Rose-Hulman students succeed. While many of the links in this guide will only work for current Rose-Hulman students and Rose-Hulman employees, this guide may prove helpful to a person providing guidance to a student at Rose-Hulman.

Academic Planning

Advising

1.Schedule a meeting with your academic advisor each academic term. Be sure to check your e-mail and/or academic advising Moodle course for more details.

2. Create a draft course schedule for the next academic term. Use your curriculum flowchart, Degree Works audit/planner, and Schedule Lookup.

  • Curriculum flowcharts - See your departmental area site on MyRoseHulman for the latest flowchart(s)
  • Degree Works audit/planner - accessible in Banner Web under Student Profile
  • Course Catalog 
  • Schedule Lookup
  • Banner Web - Banner Web 9 Student Self Service - browse class sections, registers for classes, degree evaluation and planner (Degree Works), student grades, transcript (academic advisors and students have access)
  •  MyRoseHulman Registrar page - access to online forms, student resources, training materials, degree audit, FAQs, etc.

3. Meet with your academic advisor. Discuss midterm grades and your draft course schedule for the next term. 

4. Register for classes on your designated day. 

Registering for Courses

  • Registration pin is provided by academic advisors during meeting or about 1 week before registration.
  • Please refer to MyRoseHulman Registrar page > Student Resources for information and directions related to registration.
